When Atmosphere Becomes a Religion
Share
Manners, kindness, self-control, and a peaceful atmosphere are not the same thing as Christianity. When children are shaped by tone, habit, and moral order while doctrine is postponed and sin is softened, they may learn to behave without ever learning why they need a Savior. Christ is then made useful rather than necessary, and the gospel becomes little more than help for self-improvement. This is not a small shift, but a deadly one. For unless a child is brought to know his ruin, he will never know his need for grace, and any home that leaves him there has not discipled him, but delayed him.
